Principal’s Message

November 6, 2026

Dear Whiton Families,

Thank you to our community for approving the two referendum questions on the ballot. This support will allow us to provide necessary facility upgrades for our students so that they get what they deserve.

We also extend a thank you to our PTO and volunteers for hosting the Book Fair and assisting with our Halloween festivities. Our students are lucky to have so many different experiences here at school.

This week, we kicked off the BEF Kind-a-Thon, which aligns with our Character Strong monthly trait of gratitude. This program encourages students to focus on spreading kindness and learning valuable life lessons.

Looking ahead, the PTO will host a Holiday Shop after Thanksgiving break, with more information to follow. Additionally, many upcoming field trips are scheduled for this month; teachers will share specific details soon to help connect classroom learning to real-world experiences.

Thank you to all families who attended conferences this week. We truly appreciate your time and partnership in supporting your student's education.

As a reminder, nominations for Teacher or ESP of Year are due by Friday, November 13. Please consider nominating a deserving staff member.

Thank you for your continued support of our students, staff, and school community. We wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving.

Every Day Matters

Every day matters, and it is so important that our students are here! Please keep in mind that, in order for a student to be marked “present,” they must be in school for at least four hours. The four hours do not have to be consecutive. If your student needs to leave school for an appointment, please make every effort to bring them back to school afterward so they can continue their learning. Whenever possible, please consider scheduling appointments first thing in the morning or toward the end of the school day. Every day matters, and every minute of learning counts!

Please find our latest video here.

Picture Re-Takes/ New Enrollments

Please find information from our Photographer below:

Absentees:
Any student that was absent on picture day or newly enrolled after picture day will use the pre-pay code provided in the flyer below to place their order.  The code provided will ONLY be for absentees or new enrollments. This allows you to take advantage of the same packages we provided for the original day.

Student needs a retake and did not previously place an order:
At this time, families will only able to view their student's original day image online. Once retake day has been processed and the original image has been replaced with the re-take, families may go online and place an order using the personal web passcode provided on the Last Chance to Order card. The Last Chance cards are sent to the school with the picture packages.

Retaking an image and already placed an order:
Students MUST bring in their complete original package and provide it to our photographer on retake day. We kindly ask families to write any concerns on the FRONT of the envelope. After picture day, families will receive a new full replacement package with their student's new image at no additional cost to them.

Here is the Flyer with more information.
