Principal’s Message
March 13, 2026
Dear Whiton Families,
We are excited to share about the wonderful experience our second grade students had during our International Fair. This special event gave students the opportunity to learn about cultures and traditions from around the world through interactive stations led by members of our school community and our teachers.
Throughout the fair, students rotated through several stations where families generously shared aspects of their heritage. Students learned about different countries, explored traditions, and participated in fun, hands-on activities. Many of the stations included games that helped students discover interesting facts about various cultures while engaging with one another in a meaningful way.
Events like this help bring our curriculum to life and give students a chance to appreciate the diversity within our community and around the world. It was truly a special day filled with curiosity, learning, and celebration.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the families who volunteered their time, shared their stories, and created such engaging experiences for our students. A special thank you as well to Ms. O’Shea, who was instrumental in planning this event, and to our second grade teachers for organizing such a meaningful and engaging day for our students. Your willingness to participate made the event memorable and meaningful for everyone involved.
Thank you for helping us create opportunities that celebrate culture, learning, and community.
As a reminder, the Harlem Wizards game is one week away on March 20th at 7:00 p.m. at BCMS. Please find more details here including how to purchase tickets.

Also, please find details below for the Somerville Interact and Genesis club who are hosting a move night at Somerville High School also on March 20th if you interested.

Sincerely,
|
