Principal’s Message
February 13, 2026
Dear Whiton Families,
As you are aware, our front office experienced flooding on Monday due to a burst sprinkler pipe. During this time, the fire alarms were activated, and we needed to wait for clearance before they could be turned off. As you can imagine, the situation—and the loud alarms—were challenging. However, our students and staff did an outstanding job remaining calm and continuing the day as smoothly as possible. I am incredibly proud of how everyone handled what was certainly a trying experience.
The flooding resulted in water damage, and our front office has been temporarily relocated across the hall. This transition was completed within a matter of hours to ensure that learning could continue with minimal disruption. I would like to extend a special thank you to everyone who worked behind the scenes—our secretaries, maintenance and custodial teams, the technology department, Dr. Burton, and all who stepped in to help. I am also grateful to you, our families, for your patience, flexibility, and support as we adjusted our routines. Moments like this truly highlight the strength of our community. Branchburg is a special place, and I am thankful to be part of it.
Reminders:
- School will be closed Monday in observance of Presidents’ Day.
- With the current weather conditions and snow banks, please be mindful not to block walking paths near crosswalks. Additionally, please use caution when parking along the sides of the lot, as snow accumulation has made it more difficult for cars to navigate through the parking areas.

NURSE REMINDER
If your student has been ill, please find more information here on when your student may return.
The nurse is looking for clothing donations if you are cleaning out your closets. If you have extra pants (girls/boys) in small or medium, the nurse would love them! Thank you for your consideration.
 LIBRARY VOLUNTEERS
The Whiton library is welcoming volunteers. This is a great opportunity to help with shelving books, assisting students with book checkouts, and guiding students in finding books on the shelves. Because initial training is needed, Ms. Gale is looking for anyone who is able to volunteer on a regular or semi-regular basis - Here is the sign up.  CAFETERIA VOLUNTEERS

Reminder: As the colder months approach, please label your student’s belongings to make it easier for us to return misplaced items.

Reminders to check your settings in parent square to make sure you are set up for emails/texts or app notifications so you receive all notifications, this is our form of communication to parents.

Kindergarten pre-registration is now open. Please makes sure to select the correct year, 2026-2027 when registering. Please refer to correspondence on our website, prior to registration, as some requirements have recently changed. Please see our website here.

Thank you to our third grade families for your collection of Soup for our local food pantry- 201 Seahawks v. 115 Patriots- majority of our students picked the Seahawks to win and they guessed correctly!
