Principal’s Message

October 10, 2025

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We had a very busy week, and the momentum continues into next week! Please be sure to read the important information below regarding Wednesday morning drop-off.

This week, we celebrated the Week of Respect with an engaging assembly focused on kindness and healthy ways to express our feelings. The school was filled with spirit as students and staff showed off their pride in themed attire—it was a joy to see!

Today, we also successfully completed our bus evacuation drill. All students had the opportunity to learn and practice how to safely exit a school bus in an emergency. For some, the jump from the bus was a bit of a challenge, but with the help and encouragement of our older students, everyone completed it safely and confidently.

Next Wednesday we have a very exciting assembly scheduled for our students and will need to block off the side parking lot to any vehicles in the morning.
Before Care: Drop-off will take place at the front/main entrance, though Before Care itself will run as usual.
Morning Drop-Off: Families who normally use morning drop-off are asked to park on the street and walk students to the main entrance for the usual 8:55 arrival. Please note that parking lots will be reserved for staff only.

Thank you for your cooperation and flexibility as we prepare for this special event!

Sincerely,

Dee Shober signature in blue

HALLOWEEN ( 10/31)  REMINDERS
A festive Halloween graphic with the words 'Happy Halloween!' and orange bats.
This year the whole school Halloween parade for our students will take place at 9:20 on Friday, October 31st, as long as the weather cooperates with us! We are asking that all students come to school in their costumes (weapons and scary masks should not be part of the school costume) and bring a change of clothes for the afternoon.

The parade will begin out the kindergarten door and immediately go by the flagpole to the front parking lot where it will loop around the perimeter and then go back in the front doors.  Only homeroom parents will be allowed inside the building before and after the parade.  Once inside, classes will parade in the hallways so that students and staff can see each others’ costumes.  Anyone parking in the front/side parking lots will not be able to move their vehicle until the parade is completely finished.

Please note that the parade is weather permitting.  If by chance the weather does not cooperate with us, there will not be a parade (and there will be no rain date).

We look forward to seeing you at the parade!

If your student does not celebrate Halloween and you do not want them participating in the Halloween school parade and class party, please email your student’s teacher and Mrs. Breese at jbreese@branchburg.k12.nj.us so that alternate learning experiences can be provided.
