Principal’s Message
October 3, 2025
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Although it was a short week, it was certainly a busy one—and next week is shaping up to be just as eventful! There’s a variety of important updates in this week’s newsletter, so please take a moment to read through everything carefully.
Starting next week, our first through third grade students will have the option to purchase snacks during lunch on the following day: -Wednesday - 1st grade -Thursday - 2nd grade -Friday - 3rd grade Students will have options such as chips for $1.75, ice cream ranges between $2.00-$2.50, fruit for $1.25, and various other items. Please talk with your student ahead of time to let them know whether they are allowed to purchase a snack.
On Wednesday, all students will participate in our annual bus evacuation drill, which is a required safety procedure. This drill is for all students, including those who are normally dropped off by car. Students will practice exiting from the back of the bus safely and efficiently, simulating what they would need to do in an emergency. Teachers will prepare students ahead of time in class. If your student does not typically ride the bus, you may also want to discuss the drill with them at home so they know what to expect.
This week we had our first whole school Hoot & Holler assembly! This provides us an opportunity to gather together to showcase the characteristics of our students that exemplify who we are at Whiton (caring, fair, respectful, responsible, and trustworthy) as well as a chance to discuss bus behavior and the upcoming theme days for our Week of Respect. Please see our Whiton All Stars below:
